What is ultrasonic cleaning?
Ultrasonic cleaning uses Cavitation bubbles induced by high frequency sound waves to agitate liquid. The agitation produces high forces on contaminants adhering to substrates like metals instruments, plastics, glass, rubber, and ceramics. This action also penetrates blind holes, cracks, and micro recesses. The intention is to thoroughly remove all traces of contamination tightly sticking or embedded onto solid surfaces. Contaminants can include blood, saliva, dust, dirt, oil, pigments, rust, grease, algae, fungus, bacteria, lime scale, polishing compounds and so on.
With ultrasonic cleaning as one of the step in sterilization process, we have observed that failure rates of our surgical procedures due to infection are near zero.
